Cupuacu Butter in Hot Weather

Cupuacu Butter and Cocoa Butter Shipping resumes June 12th.

We were able to source cold packs to prevent the butters from melting in VERY HOT weather conditions.

Q: At what temperature is the butter in danger of melting?

A: Our Cupuacu and Cocoa Butter blends will begin to melt at a consistent temperature over 90 to 95 degrees. If kept in direct sunlight over 90 degrees for more than 2 - 4 hours, depending on the size of the container, the butter will melt completely and re-solidify when brought below a room temperature of 80 degrees.

Q: What can I do to keep my butter from melting in VERY HOT weather conditions?

A: My best advice is be mindful of leaving your butter container in conditions were it is likely to melt.

  • DO NOT leave the butter in a hot car.
  • DO NOT leave a small butter container in your pocket or purse in temperatures above 90 degrees.
  • DO NOT leave the butter in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
  • NOTE - The butters will now be shipped with cold packs that last for 2 days. That will prevent the butter from melting while in transit. It is VERY IMPORTANT to retrieve your butter from your porch or mailbox in a timely manner ESPECIALLY if you live in a hot climate.

Q: Can I still use my butter if it melted and re-solidified?

A: YES! The butter still has all of the original healing properties. The only thing that has changed is the whipped texture and the volume.

Q: Can I enjoy Cupuacu Whip Moisture Butter if I live in a hot climate?

A: YES! I traveled with my butter to Florida when it was an average of 85 to 95 degrees outside. The trick is to pack your butter in a box and then inside of your suitcase. When traveling to the beach, pack your butter in a cooler and head on out.
